The following products run as a service and were developed by Pickering Software Services Ltd  for Registered Social Landlords to routinely update their housing management applications with tenant rent payments.

We are currently developing a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to manage the service and provide a simpler configuration procedure that will allow the software to be installed by the end user.

Additional functionality is being added as well.

PACmorph

PACmorph is a user friendly application to assist in the day-to-day processing of various import files.

PACmorph can handle Housing benefit files, GIRO files, direct debit rejections, bank files, supporting people and more. The files are easily picked from there normal location, converted and placed in the right place for the housing management software to process them.

PACmorph is being used successfully by several Registered Social Landlords (RSL's) to reduce the complexity of many finance transactions. This in turn has reduced errors and speeded up the recognition of payments.

PACmorph allows the details of external references (i.e. standing order descriptions) to successfully post to the correct rent account avoiding the suspense account.

PACextract

PACextract is a user friendly application to generate daily reports from the housing management software into Microsoft Excel form.

PACextract runs every night from a consistent data dump of the live housing management data.  This enables the entire set of reports to be consistent and free from daily data movements.

PACextract can be extended by adding custom reports developed specifically for a client. These reports are written by people with extensive knowledge of the underlying housing management software data store.

PACextract is used by PACchecker to produce reports highlighting data issues.

PACextract uses PACsheets to produce convert output files to excel.

PACchecker

PACchecker is a series of data checking reports for housing management software users. It is not uncommon in any computer system for various assumptions to be made about the data used that are not enforced.

For example many customers code the number of bedrooms or occupancy of a property into its property type. Over time, it is inevitable that changes to the dwelling screens are not reflected in the property type leaving some properties with a mismatch between the different parts of the system.  It is then common to find that when reports are run based on property type and others on the number of bedrooms and for the summarised information to be different. 

This may seem trivial at first, but small errors creep in over time and cost many man-hours in explaining differences and potentially lost income as the incorrect details make follow up tedious and difficult to do.

PickSoft have had a lot of experience analysing data from many housing association systems and have seen how such small errors can lead to much larger issues. As a result, we have developed PACchecker as an add-on set of reports for PACextract to enable issues to be detected and corrected early.

PACsheets

PACsheets is a suite of spreadsheets developed to allow data to be loaded easily with as few errors as possible. Each sheet validates the data to ensure it is the correct form and does not exceed maximum lengths. Each sheet will then generate an output file in the correct format ready for loading into the housing management software.  Many PACsheets can optionally integrate with PACextract to validate data items such as property types and transaction codes.

Synchronisation

Organisations wishing to channel shift as part of the UK government initiatives to improves service delivery can now ensure identity and other personal data can be synchronised between back office applications.

As an example of what can be achieved by a large social landlord is the development undertaken by Transform Data to produce a software application to synchronise key data between Lagan CRM and Northgate iWorld. By taking this approach to keeping data in different parts of the organisation synchronised considerable efficiencies are being realised and customers gain confidence in dealing with unmediated channels because their personal information is accurate and readily available.
